Build-A-Rig Round 1: The Winners

As our final update to what has been a very successful first round for our Build-A-Rig project, last week we held the drawing to determine the winners. Each of our winners is taking home a $1500 gaming system, designed by Zotac and Corsair respectively. So without further ado:
- Zotac’s Hey Good Lookin’: Adam Abadir of Austin, TX
- Corsair’s The Accelerator: David Baron of Gilbert, AZ.
Congratulations to our two winners, and the first winners for the Build-A-Rig project. And be sure to check back later this month when we kick off Build-A-Rig round 2, where we will be putting together and giving away a pair of small form factor systems.

I like this too, but wish the contest was open for more than a day.I'm tired of the advertising taking over Anandtech.

You can also navigate to this hyperlink with Purch advertising link at the bottom of the website. I'm tired of the ads pushing the Pipeline further down the page everyday, ads taking over my screen (especially on mobile), header ad being larger than the Anandtech header, and etc. I understand that ads pay for the site and I am not against ads. Anand did a great job managing the site in this aspect when he owned it - it lent more credibility to the site. Today there's a notebook review ad for Tom's hardware.
I've been reading since 2007. This is the only site I have a login to comment with. I don't to see this site go to crap. I'm not leaving today, but I can see that be a possibility down the road if this management style continues.

Anandtech has become the biggest, most obnoxious ad website I have ever seen. Ads should be small and not detract from the site content. Instead, this is an ad website that devotes more than 50% of their screen space with adds, less than 50% to content.I realize ads are necessary to keep the site running since it's provided to us for free. But they have gone far too far recently since Anand gave up the site.

Wow. I turned off NoScript temporarily to see what all the fuss was about and holy crap, the ads have gotten bad. Nevermind the mind-boggling number of scripts from different providers NoScript is blocking that are ad-related and have nothing to do with the content of the site itself.I'd be glad to keep NoScript off for Anandtech to allow the advertising through if it was reasonable, but this is way too much.
