by Brett Howse on June 3, 2015 12:45 AM ESTWith today’s launch of the quad-core Broadwell laptop parts, there are going to be a lot of devices making the jump over to the new CPU. Pretty much the entire lineup from Gigabyte is getting some attention today, with plenty of news in their P Series lineup.
There are a lot of products from Gigabyte moving to the Core i7-5700HQ processor, which is a 2.7-3.5 GHz quad-core 47 watt part. Here is a table of the models for reference.

Gigabyte also has their Aorus line of gaming laptops, and they have a couple of updates here as well. The X7 line is one of the first notebooks available with NVIDIA’s G-SYNC technology. The X7 Pro-SYNC is the 17.3” model which features a 1080p IPS G-SYNC display, and is powered by the Haswell Core i7-4870HQ processor and dual GTX970M GPUs in SLI.
New to the lineup is the X5 model which is a 15.6” gaming laptop with GTX 965M in SLI and the Core i7-5700HQ Broadwell processor. It is just 0.9” thick (22.9mm) and weights 5.5 lbs, which is fairly thin and light considering it has two GPUs inside. It comes with 8 GB of DDR3L-1866 memory but has four slots and can handle up to 32 GB of RAM. The display is a 2880x1620 IPS and also support G-SYNC.

Thing is you've been able to get the P35x with a GTX 980m with full memory implimentation for under $2,000 from Gigabyte for sometime now.Why would I pay over $2,000 for 965m's in SLI? Seems silly to me.
Thinner, 3k screen option, and a full GTX 980m without any SLI issues. All still for less than $2,000. I'll pass on the Auros X5.

I await your review of these products Brett. Some kids just killed my Lenovo Y510p SKi with water and am looking to replace.firewolfsm - Wednesday, June 3, 2015 - link
Then why did the just released Macbook 15 refresh not include these processors?damianrobertjones - Wednesday, June 3, 2015 - link
So Apple can milk the living crap out of people by releasing an updated model in x months. People and their money are soon parted.benzosaurus - Saturday, June 6, 2015 - link
Actually, probably the opposite of that— they didn't want to release so close to Sky Lake, especially since broadwell and haswell are so close in performance at that wattage.Daniel Egger - Sunday, June 7, 2015 - link
That does not make any sense. If they wanted to "milk" people they'd have to release now *and* in x months so the freaks who need to have the latest and greatest would buy twice...WinterCharm - Tuesday, June 9, 2015 - link

Apple is skipping the new CPU's for a skylake refresh early next year. Intel missed the CPU availability for apple's timeline.
