LAS VEGAS, NV — ASUS always puts on a good show at CES, and for 2018 they have a pretty impressive lineup of devices launching. This will focus on their consumer laptops and PCs, new for 2018.
ZenBook 13
If you had a chance to check out our review of the ZenBook 3, you’d know it’s a fantastic Ultrabook, with great battery life, strong performance, and great styling, with a 14-inch display. Today, ASUS is announcing the ZenBook 13 UX331UAL. It keeps the same thin bezel design, along with quad-core Core i7 U series processors, 16 GB of RAM, and up to 1 TB of PCIe storage, but drops the weight even further to just 2.17 lbs / 0.98 kg, thanks to the smaller display. As with the ZenBook 3, it also supports Windows Hello, although it looks like it’s IR camera based, rather than the fingerprint reader of the 3. ASUS will be selling the ZenBook 13 in two colors: Rose Gold and Deep Dive Blue.
Laptop X507
ZenBook is their premium Ultrabook lineup, but they are also announcing the ASUS Laptop X507, which as I’m sure the name gives away, is a laptop. The X507 features a 7th generation Core i7, along with NVIDIA GeForce MX110 graphics, which should be a nice bump in performance over the integrated graphics. ASUS calls it a slim-bezel NanoEdge Full HD Display, and the bezels are thinner than you’d have found a few years ago, offering a more compact body.
Vivo AiO V272
Another new consumer product being announced is the Vivo AiO V272, which features a 27-inch IPS multitouch display, and 100% sRGB gamut coverage. It features an 8th generation Core i7 processor, and NVIDIA GeForce MX150 GPU. ASUS leverages SonicMaster audio with bass-reflex speakers as well, which should improve the dynamic range of the audio system.
Vivo AiO V222
Although smaller than the V272, the V222 model features a “frameless” 22-inch full HD display, which gives a very clean look to the AiO PC. As with the larger V272, it also features bass-reflex speakers. It's also available in both black and white models.
ASUS has not announced the full specifications yet, or the pricing, but all of these devices will be available in the first half of 2018. We should get some hands-on time with them this week.
