Something isn't right with this release, at least this morning. When I try and use GeForce Experience to install it the download repeatedly fails. So then I went to Nvidia's site and tried to manually download it. When I chose "custom install" the phys X module was a 3.1 version versus my 3.3. Dunno. I canceled it.

So, this release works with Minecraft without the hotfix then.

I wonder if the VP9 decoding affects YouTube as well because I'm seeing reduced frame drops at 4K60 in Chrome after the update.

Is it 3dmark approved, i had to go back to the 3dmark approved driver to fix the f'c'ed up displayport behaviour with a displayport freesync and displayport Gsync monitor...
Was really messed up, so much so that I disconnected all of my monitors, removed a Gpu from SLI, (in effect ripping apart my computer and using only one gtx980)
In was the driver... so it is good practice to use only 3dmark approved drivers with mixed Monitors...
